Next Show Updates - The Phantom of the Opera

Greetings to a new day, a new month and new mercies!

It's time to announce the details for the next annual all-original, Broadway-like musical production - The Phantom of the Opera, based on the book by Gaston Leroux.  This is a fresh new interpretation of the classic tale, told from a Christian perspective and with all-new original music.

Auditions will be held at Rockbrook United Methodist Church (9855 West Center Road) in Omaha, beginning this Saturday, July 6th, from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm.  Auditions will continue each Saturday through July and August.  On Saturday, July 27th only, auditions will be from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm.  This will allow those who are unable to make the earlier audition times to audition.  For those who are unable to make it to any of the auditions, an audition video will be acceptable.

Auditions are open to anyone who desires to participate, age 3 years to adult.  No one will be turned away.  Auditioners from age 10 to adult should be prepared to sing 32 or more bars of a favorite song, and possibly read from a script.

In order to help defray the costs of this production, and since all who audition are guaranteed a spot in the production, there is a non-refundable $50.00 entrance fee per student (age 3 through high school).  The entrance fee is capped at $100.00 per family.  Also, there is a refundable $50.00 Security Deposit per family.  This Security Deposit will be refunded in January, provided the family has met all the production requirements.  Please be prepared to pay the entrance fee and Security Deposit when you audition.

All auditioners should enter the building on the west side, lower level.

Roles will be announced at a later date, after all auditions are complete.

Rehearsals will begin on Friday, September 20, 2019, at Rockbrook UMC from 6:30 pm to 8:00 pm.  Rehearsals will be on Fridays through December 13th, and on Fridays and Saturdays (10:00 am to noon) starting January 3rd and 4th.  Rehearsal times may be extended depending on production requirements, especially as the performance dates get near.

Dress rehearsals will be on March 16, 17 and 18, 2020, at the Salvation Army Kroc Center in Omaha, from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm.

Performance dates:  March 19, 20 and 21, 2020, at the Kroc, from  7:00 pm to 9:30 pm.  Call time is 5:30 pm.
Sunday matinee, March 22, from 2:00 pm to 4:30 pm.  Call time is 12:30 pm.

Happy New Year!

Dove of peace

Winter Greetings, Dear Esther family, and Happy New Year!

I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas break!

As snowflakes fall, and the smell of hot chocolate fills the air, time steadily brings us into the start of a new year, as 2018 closes behind us, and 2019 opens just before us.  May we each look forward, with excitement, to all that lies ahead!

Congratulations, and thank you again, to all of you for doing such a great job fundraising for "Esther"!  I am very grateful for your hard work, commitment, and results in this very important segment of the production, that was concluded at our pizza party, before the break.  You helped make the show all that it can be in the process, and I'm very happy for all of you.  Families will be reimbursed their security deposits at our first rehearsal, Friday, January 4th, coming back from break.

As already mentioned, rehearsals will resume this Friday, Jan. 4th.  The cast will rehearse downstairs.  The orchestra and 'littles' (3 to 7 year olds) will begin rehearsing this Friday as well.  Then, beginning this week, we will also be rehearsing each Saturday.  This Saturday, we will be rehearsing from noon to 2:00pm, due to the church undecorating in the morning.  Please see the Daily Call in your email, sent this evening.

T-shirts are currently on sale to family and friends:  3/$30, 2/$25, or 1/$14.

I am excited to see you all Friday!  Welcome to a new year!

Happy Thanksgiving!

Greetings Dear Esther Family!

I trust you are all doing well, and ready for a break!

Just a few reminders before our next rehearsal.

First, congratulations on everyone "coming through" for "Esther," in selling their Village Inn pie cards on time!  Job well done!

There are three fundraisers left to complete:
1)  Pre-sell at least 2 show tickets ($15/each = $30 total) for the "Ticket Raffle" fundraising event for the drawing at our pizza party, Friday, Dec. 14.  You will need to return the ticket sales before Dec. 14.  The last day to turn in funds is Friday, Dec. 7, at rehearsal.

2)  "Singing for Seniors" - Concert on Friday, Dec. 14, at Brookstone Meadows in Elkhorn, NE.  Check calendar for time and location address.

3)  "Pizza Party" - Friday, Dec. 14, at Bethany Lutheran Church in Elkhorn, NE.  Check calendar for time and location address.  You will need to sell at least 5 pieces of pizza at $2/each.  Please invite friends and family to the concert and party.

T-shirts are on sale, now, to family and friends, and anyone who might want one.  $30 for three, $25 for two and $14 for one.

Our next rehearsal is upstairs on Friday, Nov. 30.  Check the master schedule and daily call for more details.  Shoulder shots will be taken for those who need one from 6:30 to 8:00 pm that night.

Please note:  rehearsal may go as late as 10 pm for some.  The King and Queen (Esther) will be photographed in costume for 'Omaha Magazine', as well that evening.

Fall, and Moving Forward!

Image result for Fall images with pumpkin

Dear Esther Family,

November days have arrived, with pumpkins continuing to star in their show, garnishing the fields and furniture all around us.  Thanksgiving is just around the corner, and "Esther" is moving forward, steadily.  I am very grateful for each one of you!  I would like to thank you for all of your hard work, commitment, and belief in the show, and in One For All Musical Theater.  Thank you!  "The show must go on!" as they say.

Moving forward, I'd like to remind you that Village Inn pie sales are due Friday, November 16th.  Also, if you are planning to pre-sell show tickets for the drawing at our pizza party, December 14th, please remember the tickets must be purchased, and money turned in, before December 14th (at the Dec. 7th rehearsal).  So, if you do not plan to pre-sell any tickets, then you will be expected to pay the minimum $10 fee for this fundraiser before December 14th, if you haven't yet, in order to receive your security deposit back, in January.

Tickets for "Esther" are now on sale online!  Go to and search for "Esther" in Omaha on any of the show dates.

T-shirts are in, so pick yours up if you haven't yet.

Be sure to check the web calendar periodically.  On Friday, November 9th, we will have a guest speaker come to teach the history of Esther's day.

On Friday, November 30th, everyone needs to come to rehearsal for shoulder pictures to be taken for the playbill, and to turn in bios.

If you have any questions please don't hesitate to ask a staff member or myself.  You can reach us at

I'm excited to see you all at rehearsal!
